Conditioning, Truth, and Divine Direction
Contributor Writer: Anne Mack
Being a product of your upbringing speaks to you being conditioned by that which you have been exposed to within your environment; people, places, and things help to dictate your way of thinking. Be it right or wrong thinking, you have no reference for what that may be until your eyes and heart are open to hearing God. The more I thirst for God, the more is revealed to me about who I AM in comparison to who others think I should be.
When you become more and more aware of TRUTH, replacing what you thought you knew with what is, you become resistant to the false influence of others in the name of unmerited control, as God starts to push you beyond your COMFORT ZONE. This process brings about controversy, which marks the beginning of your deliverance. However, you must BE CERTAIN TO CONSULT WITH THE DIVINE COUNSELOR (the Holy Spirit) for confirmation of HIS DIRECTION, even if it is unpleasant.
For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. — Hebrews 6:16–20 (KJV)
Moral of the Story: How This Message Helps Us Today
What Anne Mack applies here speaks directly to anyone seeking clarity, growth, and spiritual grounding in a confusing world. Her words remind us that much of what we believe about ourselves was inherited, not chosen, and that true freedom begins when we allow God to redefine us. By learning to pause, listen, and seek divine confirmation rather than public approval, a person today can avoid unnecessary struggle, resist unhealthy influence, and walk with greater confidence and peace. Her message encourages us to trust God’s unchanging counsel as our anchor, especially when truth challenges comfort and obedience requires courage.
