Many of us fondly remember Brother Billy Blake, the veteran we had the distinguished honor to interview. We’ve partnered with the community board to establish a program at The Fort Washington Manor, designed not only to engage tenants but also to bridge the gap between generations by fostering dialogue with our youth. This program serves as an opportunity to positively influence and guide the younger generation.
We were especially honored to have Little Brother Noah, a seven-year-old with entrepreneurial dreams, join us. His grandmother saw the value in this program and made sure he attended, believing it would benefit him. When we spoke to Brother Noah, we discovered his excitement for becoming an entrepreneur, which shows us that the future is bright when children are already thinking about building their own businesses.
This is where guidance plays a crucial role. When children are eager to learn, as Brother Noah is, it’s essential for them to receive the right mentorship. One of the most beautiful moments was watching Brother Billy offer wisdom and guidance to Noah, particularly as he taught him the fundamentals of chess. There’s a saying that “older men are for counsel, and younger men are for war,” meaning that when elders and youth come together to learn from each other, everyone benefits.
We look forward to continuing these meetings and hope to meet more young entrepreneurs like Brother Noah in the future, as we work toward building a stronger community where knowledge and experience are shared across generations.
Right on grandson stay focus and always remember dreams do come true 👍🏾
