No Time for Politics Its Time For Prayer for Those We Have Lost on the American Eagle jet and Army Black Hawk

No Time For Politics
No Time For Politics

We send our deepest prayers to the victims of the American Eagle flight from Kansas (1/29/2025) Wednesday night after it collided with a military helicopter midair near Reagan Washington National Airport. May those who lost their lives find peace, and may God be pleased with them, wrapping their families in comfort during these trying times. This tragedy reminds us of how fragile life is. No one is promised tomorrow, and every breath we take is a blessing.

In moments like these, we must come together, not just as individuals but as a society, to recognize the value of life. Those who perished on that flight came from different backgrounds—different religions, ethnicities, and political beliefs. But in the face of loss, none of that matters. What matters is that they were human, just like us. They were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and friends.

Sometimes there are no words! Last night came with a horrific tragedy. The president is on tv to supposedly do what leaders normally do - express some sorrow, extend condolences to the families of those who perished, yet he’s standing there talking about Obama and Biden, placing blame on them and implying that the FAA hired unqualified people, that they hired people through DEI, meaning they hired “minorities,” people with disabilities, etc. He can never speak without giving a thump to the chest to so-called “minorities.” To make it worse, he used a profanity. I wonder how people could possibly be okay with this! This is a tragedy, which is being turned into a racial and political issue, and to make it worse, an investigation hasn’t even been done to ascertain how this accident occurred. Where is the humanity? Where is the empathy? -Sherise L. Rogers-

Yet, in the wake of this tragedy, we see something deeply troubling: life itself being politicized. Instead of uniting in prayer and support for these grieving families, some in politics have turned their loss into a tool for division. This should disturb us all, for it is a reflection of our society’s moral sickness. We must ask ourselves, what is the true value of life?

A Call to Reflect and Unite

Every life is precious, and every moment we have on this earth is a gift. Instead of dividing ourselves by race, religion, or political ideology, let us unite in recognizing our shared humanity. We can no longer afford to be blinded by ignorance, hatred, or personal agendas. If we truly desire a better society, we must begin by changing ourselves.

God has given us this world not to fight over, but to live in harmony, to build, to love, and to uplift one another. Imagine how much we could accomplish if we set aside foolish rivalries and chose righteousness instead. A world where we see one another not as enemies, but as brothers and sisters, all striving toward a greater purpose.

This tragedy is a call for all of us to look within, to reflect on how we treat one another, and to ask ourselves if we are truly living up to the values of kindness, love, and respect. It is time to stop politicizing lives. Instead, let’s hold space in our hearts for those who are suffering, offer prayers for those we have lost, and commit ourselves to being better people.

We are at a crossroads. We can continue down a path of division, fueled by ignorance and hate, or we can choose a path of love, faith, and unity. The choice is ours. We must recognize that the power to heal society begins with us.

As we move forward, let’s make a commitment to be better, to love harder, and to stand together in moments of tragedy, not apart. Because at the end of the day, we are all God’s creation, and life is far too precious to waste on division.

Let’s honor those we have lost by choosing a better way.
