"Building Our Own Empire. Breaking Chains, Building Nations: The Future is Ours"

The Black community is one of the most resilient and phenomenal groups of people in history. When we study our trials and triumphs, we realize that we are not just survivors; we are builders, innovators, and creators. We are the original people of this planet, and despite enduring the worst Holocaust in history during the Atlantic slave trade—where our names, culture, and religion were stripped away, and we were subjected to unspeakable horrors—our spirit remained unbroken.

We have fought in wars for a country that did not appreciate us, only to return home to segregation. Even when we built thriving Black towns, they were burned down, just like an ant hill kicked over. Yet, we rebuilt. Again and again.

But what if we took that same spirit, that same energy, and began to build our own empire instead of enriching those who do not appreciate our talents?

The Power of Black Talent and Ownership

Look at every major sports organization, and you will see Black excellence dominating. Football, basketball, boxing, soccer—even the Olympics recognize our talent when we are given the chance. But the real issue is not our talent—it’s our lack of control over it.

When Colin Kaepernick took a knee to protest injustice, it should have been a wake-up call. A large percentage of professional athletes are Black, yet we do not own the teams, the stadiums, or the leagues. Imagine if, instead of simply participating, we withheld our talent until we had ownership. Better yet, why don’t we create our own leagues?

We did it before with the Negro Leagues in baseball. The Harlem Globetrotters were a worldwide phenomenon, drawing bigger crowds than all-white teams in the beginning before the intergraded NBA. These successes proved that we don’t need validation from others to thrive. The problem isn’t our ability—it’s the conditioning that makes us doubt our own power.

Even in media, we once controlled our narrative through BET when it was owned by Bob Johnson. We had intelligent conversations, historical highlights, and thought-provoking content. But after it was sold, we saw a shift toward programming that no longer uplifts us but instead promotes ignorance under the guise of entertainment. We must reclaim our power.

A Call to Action: Building Our Own Empire

We have more Black millionaires and billionaires than ever before. The resources exist—we just need the vision and organization to direct them. What if we used our collective wealth to build our own stadiums, networks, and institutions?

We see former NFL players coaching colleges that are not historically Black, further disconnecting us from our own institutions. Instead, we should encourage more talent to attend and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), strengthening our foundation and building for the future.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad already laid the blueprint for economic independence, demonstrating that we can build self-sustaining institutions if we properly manage strong teams and focus on controlling our own destiny. Without vision, people perish. We must train our eyes to recognize talent and opportunities—not just for employment but for ownership.

Teaching the Next Generation About Wealth

Are we preparing our children to be employees or entrepreneurs? There is nothing wrong with having a job, but there is something wrong with not knowing how to build wealth. We must teach our children how to create business plans, invest, and establish generational wealth.

Here are some steps to get started:

  1. Understand Banking & Finance – Open an business account with a bank that offers high-yield returns.

  2. Establish an LLC – Protect your personal assets by forming a legal business entity.

  3. Create a Business Address – Keep your personal home address separate from your business.

  4. Obtain a Tax ID – This allows you to benefit from tax write-offs and business deductions.

  5. Learn Business Economics – Understanding money and markets is key to financial success.

  6. Develop a Marketing Plan – Identify your target audience and ensure your product is in demand.

The Time is Now

This is not just talk—it’s a movement. The blueprint has already been laid out for us. We have the talent, the resources, and the historical proof that we can succeed when we work together.

Do you believe we should focus more on building our own institutions? Are you teaching your children about business and ownership? The time to act is now. Let’s start by learning how money works, creating businesses, and reinvesting in our communities.

Our future depends on what we do today. Let’s build.
