Our platform is dedicated to spreading positivity and inspiration, but today, we need to have a serious conversation. This one hurts.

According to news reports, 30-year-old rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter, Armani Sibley, were murdered in broad daylight Monday afternoon at a car wash in Fort Worth, TX. Two gunmen opened fire, cutting their lives short. Two suspects are being investigated, but no motive has been confirmed. What we do know is that this is yet another tragic addition to the endless list of Black men, women, and children being gunned down, feeding the prison pipeline that is destroying our community.

At what point do we say enough is enough? When did killing children become acceptable? We’ve allowed a culture of violence to infiltrate our communities, and we need to be real about it. Music and media glorifying murder and destruction flood our platforms, desensitizing us to death and human life. Social Media such as You tube say they have "community guidelines," but somehow, the glorification of violence, murder, and drugs is untouched. Street life has become entertainment, and millions tune in.

When parents are misguided, and children are left to absorb toxic influences, the result is what we see today—violence, death, and destruction. Yet, we boycott department stores for political reasons but we won't boycott the entertainment industry while ignoring the content that poisons our youth. That has to change.

Now is the time to use our voices and platforms to fight back. We can no longer sit back and watch this happen. We must support programs that actively curb violence and promote self-love, discipline, and unity.

The Nation of Islam has long been successful in transforming lives, instilling knowledge of self, knowledge of God, and love for our people. When you love yourself and your people, you don't want to kill them. More programs like this are needed. Every parent, every community member, every person who cares about our future must become an activist in some capacity. If you can save one person, that's one less person likely to harm another. Elders, we need you. You have the wisdom to mold and guide young minds. Our young men, especially, need strong male figures. Fathers, uncles, grandfathers, big brothers—step in and check on these young men. Those without strong male influences are at the highest risk. This is not a problem that politicians will fix for us. Genocide is big business, and Black death is profitable in America—whether it’s the morgues, the funeral industry, the organ trade, or the prison system. There is no real intention to stop it. That responsibility falls on us.

Praying on it is not enough. Shaking our heads and pointing fingers is not enough. We need action. Join a program. Start a mentorship group. Support grassroots organizations that are already making a difference. Whether it’s social groups, chess clubs, boxing gyms, sports teams, men’s circles—find a way to contribute.

This madness is happening all over the country, not just in Fort Worth. Guns in the Black community didn’t magically appear. They were placed here because those in power know exactly how they will be used. As long as the violence stays within our communities, they do not care how many Black men, women, and children die each day.

We know this. We’ve seen this. Now, what are we going to do about it?

It’s not just up to a handful of activists on the front lines. We need all hands on deck. Will you be part of the solution?
