For good reason, Islam stands out as one of the fastest-growing religions in the world. According to teachings from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Islam is rooted in the earliest beginnings of human history; it has no birth record. While some argue that Islam was revealed 1,400 years ago, it's important to recognize that the principles it embodies existed long before that time. To "reveal" something implies that it was already present in some form. Islam is not an Arab religion. Islam means peace. By definition, a Muslim is someone who submits their will to the will of God or the Creator. Everything adheres to divine law to function; it's a way of life where creation cannot exist without the Creator, and everything operates under a governing law.

We must give credit where it's due, particularly to the life-changing teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, which have transformed countless Black men and women from a mindset shaped by slavery and society. His guidance has played a pivotal role in cleaning up many communities plagued by issues like drugs, prostitution, and alcoholism, promoting stronger family bonds in the process. No one with a civilized mindset can deny the effectiveness of methods that have worked—and continue to work—today.

One significant factor aiding young Black men, in particular, is their involvement with the Fruit of Islam (FOI).

What is the meaning of FOI? The name given to the military training of the men that belong to Islam in North America. The fruit is the best. He is constantly training and conditioning himself to meet and overcome all obstacles in his path. His sole purpose is to help the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan deliver the 30 to 40 million more dead to the lamb of God, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and to do this; he's compelled to be obedient, tolerant, militant, courteous, humble, honest, dependable.

This FOI consists of men from the Nation of Islam who seek the spiritual guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. The FOI offers specialized training that aids the development of Black men and boys, providing them with the tools they need to navigate a society filled with challenges. Members are taught to condition themselves mentally, spiritually, and physically, striving to set an example for those lacking father figures and women looking for examples of righteous husbands dedicated to a virtuous path.

When we see well-dressed Black men distributing The Final Call newspaper—a Black-owned publication focusing on fact-checked information rather than propaganda—we should recognize the importance of their efforts. These men have taken the initiative to uplift themselves, changing their mindset and battling internal struggles to become better individuals.

While every organization faces challenges, we must appreciate a system that uplifts Black men and women. Equally important is the Muslim Girls Training (MGT), a counterpart to the FOI. This program teaches young women to conduct themselves effectively for their benefit and as role models at home and beyond.

What is a MGT / GCC?

Muslim girls training in general civilization class, this was the name given to the training of women and girls in North America, how- to keep house, how to rear their children, how to take care of their husbands, sew, cook, and, in general, how to act at home and abroad.

Within the Nation of Islam, many are actively working to create conflict resolution programs and collaborating with faith-based organizations committed to community upliftment. The FOI is A righteous army ready to be part of our community's transformation, with no interest in propaganda or distractions that do not focus on empowering the people.

Islam—and indeed all faiths—recognizes that each individual's journey is personal. We must join forces with those committed to bettering our community during these tumultuous times. The teachings of the Nation of Islam provide an invaluable source of strength, benefiting anyone willing to engage. These life-giving teachings can also be found online at www.noi.org or on various social media platforms, showcasing the many giants emerging from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad's guidance.

We should also applaud the Nation of Islam for establishing schools that teach fundamental skills in mathematics and science. Numerous stories abound of graduates from the Muhammad University of Islam—many of whom have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, and champions for our community.

Together, we can sustain this ongoing positive phenomenon. Regardless of where we stand in life, staying connected to these rich teachings is crucial. Just as Noah's Ark provided shelter during the flood, we must seek spiritual, mental, and physical protection from the challenges of today. Whether you choose to join the Nation of Islam or not, the transformation seen in those once imprisoned—physically or mentally—demonstrates the positive impact of these teachings.

It's heartening to witness young Black men and women becoming more valuable contributors to society, growing into better husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters through peace. We owe our gratitude to all those who have established organizations and platforms to uplift our community, and we look forward to continuing this important work with God's guidance.
